Montana - Livingston Depot

Livingston, MT - The Historic Depot at Livingston was built in 1902 as the Norhtern Pacifics Railroad's original access to Yellowstone National Park. The majestic colonnade and ornate architectural details greeted travelers until 1979 when AMTRAK suspended passenger service to southern Montana. Burlington Northern, successor to Northern Pacific, used the building as office space until donating it to the City of Livingsotn in 1985.

Two years and $800,000 later, the restored depot opened as a museum operated by the Livingston Depot Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving this monument to Livingston's past. The Depot Center Museum operates from May to October, providing historic and cultural programs for the benefit of Park County residents and visitors form around the world. In the winter months, the Depot seves as a community cultural center, hosting such diverse events as concerts, banquets, holiday programs, and weddings.
