Texas - Rosenberg Railroad Museum

Rosenberg, TX - Dedicated to preserving the rail history of Fort Bend County and the surrounding area, beginning with the first line in Texas, the BBB&C, in 1853. Gallery exhibits feature photos, documents, and artifacts from the eight railroads that came through Fort Bend County. On the grounds, see a small-scale replica water tower, an executive railcar built in 1879, restored semaphores and wig-wag, and 1903 Tower 17, the last railroad interlocker to operate traditionally in Texas. The museum is located in downtown Rosenberg adjacent to the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad and Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Sixty to eighty trains pass by daily. Railfans are welcome to linger and train watch. School programs, group tours, and birthday parties offered.
