Dunsmuir, CA - Situated near the California and Oregon border, the Dunsmuir RailCam captures trains as they pass through on the I-5 corridor, the main rail artery linking the Pacific Northwest with California. This system is funded by the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce and operates around the clock.
The camera only activates when a train is within range. After a picture is snapped the images are uploaded to the main server within two minutes. The images will remain until another train passes and the images are updated. The system resets near midnight. While the images are still photos, you have the advantage of always being able to see a train on this site. You can also review previous photos taken earlier in the day.
