St. Louis Steam Train Association - Frisco 1522's Official Home Page. the St. Louis Steam Train Association, a group of volunteers working evenings and weekends, selected the 1522 for restoration and began a slow effort to bring the engine back to running condition. Their effort paid off in 1988 when the 1522 ran again under her own steam and, since then, the engine has made numerous excursions throughout the midwest, plains and the South.
