Kaw River Railroad (KAW)

The original Kaw River Railroad (KAW) was a Kansas City Southern Railway Company property that became the first short line Watco Companies would operate for KCS. The 12-mile line began operations in June 2004, serving customers in Kansas City, Kan./Mo. and the historic Union Station. The KAW expanded in April 2005, adding 16 miles that included the Birmingham, Mo. to Kearney, Mo. line. The expansion is a BNSF property serving customers in Clay County, Mo. and interchanges with the BNSF at Birmingham, Mo.
In March 2006, the line expanded again and the KAW began operations for the Kansas City Transportation Company LLC (KCTL) serving more than 30 customers. In May 2007, nearly 15 miles of industrial track was added, serving customers of the Bedford Yard. The KCTL interchanges with the BNSF, ICE, KCS, NS and UP at Kansas City. Collectively, the KAW and KCTL handle approximately 15,000 carloads of animal byproducts, chemicals, plastics and industrial products annually. Also, the KAW has a transload site available for handling dry bulk products and other carload traffic. The KAW operations office is located in Kansas City, KS and Customer Service is located in both Pittsburg and Kansas City, Kan.

Keokuk Junction Railway Co. (KJRY)
The Keokuk Junction Railway Co. (KJRY),a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pioneer Railcorp, operates 114 miles from Peoria, Illinois to Keokuk, Iowa, and 12 miles of track from LaHarpe
to Lomax, Illinois and was assigned trackage rights from Lomax, Illinois
to Ft. Madison, Iowa, a distance of approximately 15.5 miles over the BNSF, allowing the KJRY to interchange traffic with the UP. The railroad's principal commodities are corn, corn germ, corn syrup, meal, gluten feed, and railroad wheels.

Kettle Falls International Railway, LLC (KFR)
Kettle Falls International Railway (KFR) operates over 160 miles of former Burlington Northern Santa Fe trackage in Northeastern Washington State and Southeastern British Columbia. KFR operates from the BNSF interchange at Chewelah, Washington to Columbia Gardens, British Columbia. A second line operates from Kettle Falls, Washington to Grand Forks, British Columbia.
KFR has a very diverse traffic base, including lumber, plywood, wood products, minerals, metals, fertilizer, industrial chemicals, and abrasives. Key customers include ATCO Lumber, Teck Resources Ltd, Boise Cascade, International Raw Materials, Pacific Abrasives, Stimson Lumber, Vaagen Bros Lumber, and Columbia Gardens Reload.
KFR works closely with local economic development agencies on new business opportunities and with five days per week rail connections with BNSF, KFR is an excellent choice for new plant locations.

he Kiamichi Railroad (KRR) is located in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas for a total of 261miles of track. Interchange points with BNSF, DQE, KCS, TNER, and UP.
Commodities such as coal, pulp/paper, clay, concrete, glass or stone, non-metallic minerals, lumber and wood products and food and kindred products constitute the bulk of the product mix.
The KRR operates in southeast OK, southwest AR and northeast TX. All three states and many communities have attractive financial incentives for new businesses looking to locate in their areas including infrastructure assistance in some instances.

The Kingman Terminal Railroad (KGTR) operates over 3 track miles in the Kingman Airport & Industrial Park located in Kingman, Arizona. The Kingman Airport & Industrial Park is a 1,100-acre industrial park situated along historic Route 66, five miles from Interstate 40 and Highway 93. The KGTR serves the interchanges with Class I carrier BNSF at Kingman.

Knob Lake & Timmins Railway (KLTR)
Knob Lake & Timmins Railway (KLTR) is a service in Labrador and Northern Quebec (Schefferville). KLTR operates and maintains the 21-km railway from the TSMC mine to the Tshiuetin Railway tracks near Schefferville, Quebec. KLTRail built and owns the tracks from the Quebec border to the interchange point with Tshiuetin Railway.
The primary commodity moved on KLTR is iron ore.
