Atlantic Coast Line & Seaboard Air Line Railroads Historical Society
The Atlantic Coast Line & Seaboard Air Line Railroads Historical Society traces its beginnings to the Southeastern Railroads Technical Society, an informal group that started in 1983 and began publishing 'Lines South'. Since then, we have grown into a dynamic organization of over 1,000 national and international members, and in 1993 we organized as a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation chartered in the State of Florida. Our purpose is to preserve and disseminate the history of the ACL and SAL, as well as their successor Seaboard Coast Line (SCL); leased and affiliated lines like Georgia Railroad, West Point Route, Clinchfield, and Gainesville Midland; and merged lines such as Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast, Charleston & Western Carolina, and Macon Dublin & Savannah.
