Chessie System Historical Society
The Chessie System Historical Society had it’s beginnings in 1997 when a handful of railfans realized they shared a common interest in the Chessie System. The decision was made to form a group that would focus it’s attention exclusively on the Chessie System. The CSHS now has hundreds of members in many states and some foreign countries and continues to grow at a rapid pace. The CSHS is actively involved in research and information sharing on all aspects of the Chessie System Railroads.

Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society
The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society. Our mission is to preserve the dining car and passenger experience on the Erie Lackawanna and its predecessors through the purchase and restoration of existing Erie Lackawanna passenger equipment.
The centerpiece and focus of our organization is the restoration of Erie Lackawanna Diner #741. Built in 1925 for Pullman dining service on the Atlantic Coast Line, it was sold to the Erie in 1930. In 1949, the car was modernized by the Erie into its current configuration. Our restoration will reflect the appearance of the car after the modernization.
