New York Central System Historical Society
The official New York Central System Historical Society web site. The society was organized in March 1970 by the combined efforts of several people who were former employees of the New York Central System. The Society is chartered as a non-profit corporation under the laws of the state of Ohio. Our purpose is to preserve for posterity information and artifacts relating to the history of the New York Central System and its predecessor and subsidiary roads, and to make this material available to our members and other interested parties. We publish the Central Headlight which is available on a quarterly basis, with each isuue containing a feature article of historical significance. Our collection of locomotive and car drawings is second to none. Prints of these drawings are much sought after by the serious modeler, and are available at a nominal cost. We have an extensive photograph collection, and copy photos of the passenger car section are now available. Through membership in the Society one can assist in the preservation of the history of the New York Central, and at the same time receive each issue of the Central Headlight and have access to our wealth of historical material. Regular, contributing, and sustaining memberships are offered.

Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation
Since 1975, three steam locomotives--the Southern Pacific #4449, the Spokane, Portland & Seattle #700 and the Oregon Railroad & Navigation #197--have been restored and maintained by volunteers in the Brooklyn roundhouse.
The future of the roundhouse is uncertain. Locomotive volunteers and community members have formed the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation to secure a permanent home for the engines and create a facility to preserve Oregon's rail heritage. The proposed rail complex will combine a maintenance shop, the historic roundhouse and turntable, and interpretive displays of historic rail equipment.

Pere Marquette Historical Society
The Pere Marquette Historical Society, Inc. (PMHS) was founded in 1995 as a means of collecting and disseminating information regarding the Pere Marquette Railroad. The Pere Marquette operated over trackage stretching from Buffalo, New York to Chicago, and from Bay View (Petoskey) Michigan to Toledo, Ohio, with trackage in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Ontario. In addition to its strictly rail operations, the PM also operated railway car ferries on the Detroit and St. Clair rivers, and a fleet of car ferries from Ludington across Lake Michigan to Milwaukee, Kewaunee and Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
