Western Rails Switchers & Shortlines page
I am a big fan of little locomotives and railroads. This section contains photos and information of western shortline, industrial, and logging locomotives, and switchers on class-one railroads. It will also contain info pages and "Spotter's Guides" on switchers as time allows, and links to pages and sites featuring switchers.

Western Shortline Rosters
Western Shortline Rosters is a listing of all-time diesel locomotive roster information of various shortline and regional railroads in Canada and western USA. I have also included electric locomotives for those railroads that operated them. As well, steam locomotives have been included for a few railroads. Railroads written in italic font are no longer operating.
In addition to roster data, for each railroad there is information about the route operated and junctions with other railroads, location of headquarters, radio frequencies, a brief history and current ownership. Please drop me a note if you have anything to add or correct.
In addition to shortline and regional railroads, a select number of industrial railroad operations have also been included.
