Route to the Redwoods
Ed Pick
Route to the Redwoods - Boone Morrison's HOn3 Journal. The saga begins many years ago when I was introduced to California narrow gauge, and the North Pacific Coast in particular,
through the wonderful book "Oil Lamps and Iron Ponies". The chapter on the NPC captured my imagination as I saw my home
area through the lens of history. I was hooked. Now, more than forty years later, I am finally able to model a small piece of this wonderful little narrow gauge line and that
project is what this Journal, Route to the Redwoods, is all about.

S Scale Model Railroading Page
S scale is one of the fastest growing scales within model railroading today and is growing in leaps and bounds. Why? Because you need only 10% more space than HO to operate, our products are proliferating in the market place and S scale products run reliably, track better and are easily modeled to prototypical accuracy.

South Hills Junction
In 1904 Pittsburgh Railways Co. blasted a tunnel through mostly solid rock under Mt. Washington. From the end of the Smithfield St. Bridge, the connection into downtown Pittsburgh, two tracks ran up a 6% grade exiting to what some rail fans call trolley heaven: South Hills Junction I am currently building a model of the junction area. It will be an HO module built to the standards of the East Penn Traction Club. While the research will never be complete, I am constructing this web site to share my findings and progress of the module.
