Steve Jones' Railway Photo Pages
I'm very proud that this railway site has survived for two years in it's original format. Some of the less professional outfits in the internet world may have made life difficult at times but the project still thrives, currently containing over 3,500 photographs. Although I've tweaked the layout somewhat to take it forward into it's third year, the site deliberately still retains a simple structure and a relatively spartan look. The sole aim is to share some of my railway photographs via the internet as efficiently as possible.

The E.B. Luce Collection
Edwin B. Luce was a turn-of-the-century photographer based in Worcester, Masssachusetts who documented the architecture, businesses, people, and transportation methods of central MA from the 1800's through the 1930's. We now have hundreds of his train and trolley images online for viewing and purchase. This section of the website shows only a small portion of the train/trolley archive. Upon your request, we can issue you a username and password to view the entire collection.

the Idiot Railfan
You have found the home of the Idiot Railfan. The purpose of this website is
to try to put a little more personality into the hobby (and I know that there
are some railfans out there that need a good spike of personality!). There's
no doubt that trains retain those bold, powerful, and colorful characteristics
which attract us to them; the photo galleries that are provided here exemplify
that. I just want to poke fun at the people that go ga-ga over them (me,
included)!

The Time Machine: A Strasburg Railroad Photoessay
Ed Pick
To ride a preserved steam railroad is to travel through time. Aboard the steam cars, one can turn back the clock and experience again the sights and sounds of a less hectic age. The creak of wooden floorboards, the smell of cinders, the pant of the steam locomotive-- these were the sensations of daily life in our great-grandparents' day. To recreate them for those of us too young to have known them first hand is railway preservation's privilege and high calling.

Traction Engine Pages
The Traction Engine Pages bring the images of heavy machinery being operated "as t'were in granfer's day" - the fairground, with its colourful roundabouts and magical sounding organs - working traction engines ploughing, sawing and threshing - and heavy haulage rigs with several engines working hard to move massive loads. The market place may have the very parts you have been looking for to restore your engine. Check the diary entries to find details of forthcoming Steam Fairs in your area, and take a look at the steam links for other Internet sites specialising in steam powered machinery.
