A Harvey House Home page
Hotels, Lunchrooms, Restaurants in the Old West. This page is my effort to collect as much information about the Fred Harvey Company and the Harvey Houses as exists on the Web. I'd like the site to be a clearinghouse of information about the Harvey Houses, with a section on each surviving Harvey House including photographs and a short essay on each. Finally, I'd like this site to be linked to other Harvey sites to encourage further restoration, rehabilitation and recyclng for new uses of these fine old buildings.

California - Melitta Station Inn & Spa
Santa Rosa, CA - Melitta Station was built around 1880 and has always served a unique part of Sonoma County's history. It has been used as a country store and post office, rail depot, antique store and family home. Basalt stones from rock quarries in what is now a state park were sent by rail to San Francisco for use as the city's cobblestone streets. The Station was caringly and lovingly converted into a bed and breakfast inn in 1985 and updated in 2007 with a Cal-King Suite and Spa tub/massage room. The Southern Pacific line from Vallejo to Santa Rosa ran right across from the Inn from 1887 to 1935 carrying basalt blocks for paving the streets of San Francisco and tourists to beautiful Santa Rosa city and the Russian River

An original Western Pacific Railroad Station beautifully restored and turned into a first class restaurant. Artifacts from the railroad's heyday abound here. The Depot was an active railroad station from 1906 until 1966. Travelers arriving by train to California were introduced to California's horticultural wonders here at the former Plant Introduction Garden which grew every fruit tree imaginable.

Colorado - Giuseppe's Old Depot Restaurant

Hells Kitchen Railway Museum and Bar
Welcome to Hell's Kitchen Railway Museum & Bar, the first Railway museum of its kind in the Republic of Ireland.
The Museum
This museum is a treasure-trove for enthusiasts and anyone interested in by-gone days.
On display is the largest private collection in the country; bells, lamps, shunting poles, signal equipment, staffs, station boards, etc. We also have a T.V monitor for viewing archival material.
The whole project cost £150,000 and we are very grateful for the grant aid of £35,000 which we received from the Roscommon Enterprise Board.
