TrainMaster
World's Most Popular Real Train And Locomotive Simulator. A railroad computer game that simulates train traffic control on the busy track between Washington DC and Philadelphia. The TRAINMASTERŠ is a PC based computer simulation model that realistically replicates actual train handling and
locomotive response on real North American rail lines.

TRANSIMS
The TRansportation ANalysis SIMulation System (TRANSIMS) is a
set of new transportation and air quality analysis and forecasting
procedures developed to meet the Clean Air Act, the Intermodal Surface
Transportation Efficiency Act, Transportation Equity Act for the 21st
Century, and other regulations. It consists of mutually supporting
simulations, models, and databases that employ advanced computational
and analytical techniques to create an integrated regional transportation
system analysis environment.
By applying advanced technologies and
methods, it simulates the dynamic details that contribute to the complexity
inherent in today's and tomorrow's transportation issues. The integrated
results from the detailed simulations will support transportation planners,
engineers, decision makers, and others who must address environmental
pollution, energy consumption, traffic congestion, land use planning,
traffic safety, intelligent vehicle efficiencies, and the transportation
infrastructure effect on the quality of life, productivity, and economy.

Valve Gear on the Computer
Ed Pick
In 1986, Charlie Dockstader wrote the first version of software to simulate various types of valve gear. Since then, he has
made continuous additions and improvements to add other types of valve gear and improve functionality and ease of use. The programs can be used with the default settings to view operation and characteristics of any of the types of valve gear
supported. They may also be used to check or change valve gear designs as all the variables in the gear can be modified. Some
types of valve gear also include a design section. Performance for all types can be viewed using several different types of
diagrams.

Yard Duty
Yard Duty is a 2D overhead-view railroad game which uses actual satellite images as a backdrop for freight yards.
The railroad 'system' consists of a network of interconnected yards, based on actual yards in existence across the nation.
The player 'enters' a certain yard for the purpose of building and breaking down trains and directing freight cars
in the direction of their destination. Yard Duty is all about routing loaded freight cars to their proper destination
for unloading, then routing them to another destination for reloading. And so the cycle continues.
