The railway of La Mure was created to carry the coal down from the Plateau Matheysin towards Grenoble. It was inaugurated in July 1888. Its construction and its electrification have been permitted the railway of La Mure to have many articles in technical reviews at the beginning of the century. Germany - Frankfurt Transport Museum
Mobility - past and present. The Frankfurt Transport Museum shows how it all started. The Stadtwerke Transport Museum was opened in 1984 in two converted railway sheds. Covering an area of 3,900 m2 in Schwanheim, it has been attracting visitors to its "Von der Pferdebahn bis zur Neuzeit" [from horse-drawn trains to the modern era] exhibition ever since. Visitors, taking a tour through the exciting history of Frankfurt local public transport system, can marvel at 30 lovingly restored original exhibits.
