Europe - Die Mariazellerbahn
The Maria cell hereditary ancestor (Mariazeller course, MzB) is a remarkable narrow-gauge railway (760 mm) in the east of Austria. Apart from its historical meaning and its high value for the inhabitants along the distance is it (still) an important suburban traffic means and a recognized tourism course.

France - Le Chemin de Fer de La Mure (The railway of La Mure)
The railway of La Mure was created to carry the coal down from the Plateau Matheysin towards Grenoble. It was inaugurated in July 1888. Its construction and its electrification have been permitted the railway of La Mure to have many articles in technical reviews at the beginning of the century. Former mining train, "Le Chemin de Fer de La Mure" is today a tourist train, arranging in an harmonious unit the safeguarding of the industrial inheritance and the economic development of the place. A splendid railway is offered to us with these valiant electric locomotives which are more than 50 years old.

Germany - Frankfurt Transport Museum
Mobility - past and present. The Frankfurt Transport Museum shows how it all started. The Stadtwerke Transport Museum was opened in 1984 in two converted railway sheds. Covering an area of 3,900 m2 in Schwanheim, it has been attracting visitors to its "Von der Pferdebahn bis zur Neuzeit" [from horse-drawn trains to the modern era] exhibition ever since. Visitors, taking a tour through the exciting history of Frankfurt local public transport system, can marvel at 30 lovingly restored original exhibits.

Steam railroads - a truly Saxon experience
The Saxons have always been known as ingenious for their spirit of invention in the areas of industry and technology. 1839 was the year in which the first long-distance railroad in Germany began operating - between Leipzig and Dresden. The ‘Saxonia’ puffed her way along the 71-mile track and entered the annals of history as the first German-built steam locomotive.
Today, there are still more narrow-gauge steam trains running in Saxony than anywhere else in Germany. This website invites you to experience these nostalgic trains in a unique landscape. And there are a host of other sights to see along the tracks.
