Minami Aso Railway (Nantetsu) is located at southern area of Mt. Aso, most famous volcano in Japan,
and connects Takamori to Tateno, junction point with Kyushu Railway Company`s Houhi line. The
railway is rather short but has a very beautiful scenery along the route.

Japan - Modern Transportation Museum
The second railway museum in Japan, the "Modern Transportation Museum" was founded in 1962, reflecting the rapid technological progression made by the railway at that time and emphasizing the future of the railway. Over the years, the museum has also come to focus on the historical and cultural aspects of the railway, and today is operated by the West Japan Railway Company. By 1975 steam locomotives were no longer in usen't Japan. and this world become a year to be remembered as marking the achievements made in locomotion.

Japan - Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum
The Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum was opened in 1972 on the 100th anniversary of the start of railway operation in Japan. The museum was opened to preserve the history of the steam locomotive, a major part of transportation history passing on the story of the steam locomotive to future generations. The many exhibitions at the museum allow visitors to experience and learn about the railway history and railway culture of Japan. The museum features a fan shaped locomotive house with an impressive array of steam locomotives, a turntable used to turn the gigantic locomotives, a steam locomotive in actual operation on the museum's own exhibition track, numerous displays packed with information about steam locomotives and there is even the former Nijo Station House which takes visitors back to the days of the Meiji era.

Kraftverkehrsgesellschaft Dreiländereck GmbH
"Kraftverkehrsgesellschaft Dreiländereck" (which means "bus company three countries corner") (KVG) and the Saxon-Oberlausitz railway company (SOEG).
The railway route is situated East of Dresden in Germany, right next to the border to Poland and the Czech Republic.
It runs from the town of Zittau to two villages with health spas. At the village of Oybin the museum of the narrow gauge railway is located.
The trains are operated with steam on narrow gauge, some go to one village, some to the other, here is the time table, obviously valid all year round

New Zealand - Canterbury Railway Society
Christchurch, New Zealand. - Based at Ferrymead Heritage Park, the Canterbury Railway Society restores and operates New Zealand's finest collection of steam, diesel and electric locomotives, rolling stock, signalling equipment and buildings.
The Ferrymead Railway and the Canterbury Railway Society trace their heritage back to the 1940s when the New Zealand Railway and Locomotive Society was formed. Located in Christchurch, the Society is a non-profit organisation that carries out a range of activities, including the operation of the Ferrymead Railway, the preservation of locomotives and rolling stock, the sale of publications and souvenirs, and the publication of a monthly newsletter for members. The CRS also participates in other local and national rail preservation activities throughout New Zealand.
