New York - The Trolley Museum of New York
Kingston, NY - The Trolley Museum of New York is a non-profit educational museum founded in 1955. The goals of the museum are to offer a ride to the public and through exhibits and educational programs to share the rich history of rail transportation and the role it played in the Hudson Valley region. In addition to static displays of trolley, subway and rapid transit cars from the United States and Europe, an excursion ride runs 1 1/2 miles from the foot of Broadway in downtown Kingston, New York, to picnic grounds on the shore of the Hudson River. Picnic tables are available at the Hudson River and the West Strand Park (Rondout Creek) trolley stops. Along the way, we stop at the museum grounds.

New York - Wantagh Railroad Museum
The Wantagh station was built in 1885 for eight hundred dollars. Until 1891, it was known as Ridgewood station. In that year, the community adopted the name Wantagh. The station originally stood on Railroad Avenue, east of Wantagh Avenue. It was moved to its present location in 1966, in order to save it from demolition as the Babylon branch of the LIRR was being elevated, and the new station building was built.

Ohio - Dennison Depot Railroad Museum
Dennison, OH - During W.W.II the Dennison Depot was located on the National Railway Defense Route. It was the main stopping point on the route because it was the exact mid-point between Columbus and Pittsburgh. One evening, Lucille Nussdorfer sat waving good-bye to U.S. soldiers going off to war. She noticed that they seemed sad, so she organized a few other friends to start a GI canteen. The community response was so overwhelming that the Salvation Army soon had to take over. The small towns of Dennison and Uhrichsville served over 1.5 million soldiers during W.W.II. The community became so popular among the soldiers that it was called Dreamsville, USA.
You can visit this beautifully restored Museum today and feel what the G.I.'s felt during the war. Well over One Million Dollars has been spent on the restoration of our museum to preserve it for many generations to come. Join us today for an educational experience into the Past!

Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Oh - (Yes, there really is a railroad exhibit here! Only one, but the museum is worth visiting anyway.) On December 19, 1986, the White House announced President Reagan's approval to develop a rail garrison system for basing
part of the Peacekeeper Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) force. To increase survivability of this force, 50
Peacekeepers would be deployed in existing Minuteman silos and 50 more would be mounted on 25 USAF trains, two per train. One of the cars is on display .
