Alaska - Alaska Railroad
Welcome to the Alaska Railroad, the last full-service railroad in the United States.
From the tidewater at Whittier and the Seward to the heart of the Interior Alaska , our route covers more than 500 miles. Our summer services offers three daily routes. The Denali Star departs daily from Anchorage and Fairbanks with stops at Talkeetna and Denali. The Coastal Classic serves Anchorage and Seward, with magnificent walls of ice, jagged peaks and gorges along this route. The Glacier Discovery connects Anchorage and Whittier, winding along the scenic Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet. In addition to our daily service routes, The Hurricane Turn offers a unique "flag" service between Talkeetna and Hurricane Gulch, providing a vital transportation link for rural Alaskans. In 2000, the Railroad added 16 state-of-the-art locomotives, nine custom-built passenger coaches and three vista dome-style coaches to our fleet.

Montana - Livingston Depot
The Historic Depot at Livingston was built in 1902 as the Norhtern Pacifics Railroad's original access to Yellowstone National Park. The majestic colonnade and ornate architectural details greeted travelers until 1979 when AMTRAK suspended passenger service to southern Montana. Burlington Northern, successor to Northern Pacific, used the building as office space until donating it to the City of Livingsotn in 1985.
Two years and $800,000 later, the restored depot opened as a museum operated by the Livingston Depot Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving this monument to Livingston's past.
The Depot Center Museum operates from May to October, providing historic and cultural programs for the benefit of Park County residents and visitors form around the world. In the winter months, the Depot seves as a community cultural center, hosting such diverse events as concerts, banquets, holiday programs, and weddings.

Oregon - Medford Railroad Park
Medford, OR - At the Medford Railroad Park, there are plenty of things for the family to do. The main attractions are the miniature trains that you can ride.
Also in the park are real train stuff from the past, (called "Prototype") cabooses, boxcars, an old Flanger and other rolling stock from several RR companies, collected by the local chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. Also, the Rogue Valley Model RR club holds an open house at the park, during this same time.

Oregon - Nickel Plate Road #190
Portland, OR - Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful diesel locomotives of all time, and popular enough to be considered by many an "honorary steam locomotive," the American Locomotive Company (ALCo) PA-1 of 1946 had all but vanished from US rails decades ago, with the last four American units sold in 1978 to Mexico. 22 years later, two of them were repatriated. One of these is Delaware & Hudson #18, currently being restored as Nickel Plate Road #190.
