Snowdon Mountain Railway
Llanberis, Gwynedd, Wales - Travel by the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit of majestic Snowdon. This master piece of Victorian engineering is the only rack and pinion railway in Britain and by far the highest, climbing 1,085 metres to the peak of Snowdon. The railway is a legend in itself and is a memorable way to discover the secret of Snowdonia, a land intrinsically rugged and wild, unique in character, culture, history and myth.

South Tynedale Railway
The South Tynedale Railway operates narrow gauge passenger trains along a 2 mile line along the scenic South Tyne valley between Alston, in Cumbria and Kirkhaugh, in Northumberland. Train services operate from April to October and on certain dates in December each year. The railway operates along part of the old standard gauge trackbed of the Haltwhistle to Alston branch line, which was closed to passengers on 1st May 1976. It is hoped to extend the line by another 2 miles from Kirkhaugh to Slaggyford within the next 10 to 20 years as funds permit.

South Tynedale Railway - Alston, Cumbria
The South Tynedale Railway is a 2ft (61cm) gauge line, running northwards from the Alston terminus along the former Alston-Haltwhistle branch alignment. Until recently the line was open to the public for 1.5 miles to Gilderdale Halt. Following approval from HM Railway Inspectorate in early September 1999, the Railway is now open a further mile to Kirkhaugh (2.5 miles from Alston). The opening of the extension is a triumph for the small number of volunteers who have put years of effort into re-laying the line.

Swindon & Cricklade Railway
The Swindon & Cricklade Railway is Wiltshire's only standard-gauge Heritage Railway. Based on the site of Blunsdon Station between Swindon and Cirencester, the line uses part of the trackbed of the former Midland & South Western Junction Railway.

Today, visitors can enjoy all the facilities they expect from a Heritage Railway centre. But it is worth remembering that everything they see has been re-created by the Society. Rolling stock, track, locomotives and building materials are all delivered by road.
