Colorado - Rio Grande Scenic Railroad
Alamosa, CO - What makes a train ride on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad so special? Is it our vintage diesel engines, with their powerful wheels and colorful sounds? Perhaps it's our historic mountain pass with tunnels, horseshoe curves and abundant wildlife. Maybe the variety of cars to choose from like the comfort of a classic coach, full access in the open-air observation deck, stylish lines and upper deck of the dome car, or the famous "City of New Orleans" club cars with live music acts. You might say it's the Mountain Rails Live outdoor concert series only accessible by train. And some folks say it's our friendly staff and all the people who work to make each ride memorable. Whatever combination of reasons you find true, come find yourself somewhere in the middle of nowhere at the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad.

Colorado - Royal Gorge Route Railroad
Caņon City, CO - Climb aboard Colorado's most scenic train for a journey through the spectacular Royal Gorge. Since 1879, these tracks have followed the winding, tumbling Arkansas River deep within the soaring, 1,000-foot granite cliffs of Colorado's Royal Gorge. The Royal Gorge Route is a quality, Colorado attraction - no thrill rides or cotton candy, just a focus on outstanding service, delicious food, and unique classes of service.

1999 marked the return of passenger service through this magnificent gorge after a 32 year absence. The Royal Gorge Route follows the most famous portion of the old Denver & Rio Grande Western train line, 24 miles round-trip, from Caņon City to Parkdale and return. The two hour train ride takes passengers through the "Grand Canyon of the Arkansas" on an unforgettable journey over the famous Hanging bridge, which clings precariously to the steep granite walls of the Royal Gorge, towering over 1,000 feet above.

Colorado - Tiny Town Live Steam Railway & Village
Tiny Town, C0 - Tiny town was created at the site of the Denver-Leadville stagecoach stop in a scenic mountain canyon southwest of Denver in 1915. That's when moving-company owner George Turner began constructing one-sixth-sized buildings with a turn- of-the-century flavor to delight his young daughter.

In 1988, volunteers adopted the resurrection of Tiny Town as a civic, charitable project. Individuals from the entire state refurbished original buildings, created new structures and got the railroad up and running again. The Tiny Town Foundation was created in 1990 to establish Tiny Town as a not-for-profit effort and ensure the cherished village would never be threatened again. Each year the foundations has been proud to donate a portion of the proceeds to various area charities.
