Australia - Newcastle Tramway System
The following pages contain a brief history of the Newcastle Tramway System, which commenced in 1887 and finished in 1950. These pages contain some text and images of trams that were used on the Newcastle network. Please do not be too critical of the quality of the images as most photos were taken by amatuer photographers with basic camera equipment of that era.

Chicago, IL - Chicago Transit & Railfan
Chicago and its extensive railroad network evolved hand in hand. The city grew around its elevated and streetcar lines, while many suburbs grew around the commuter railroads and interurban lines. The streetcar lines have been replaced with buses and the interurbans are mostly gone, but Chicago remains the railroad center of the nation. by Bill Vandervoort
