Detroit - Conrail Detroit Shared Assets Area
When CSX and Norfolk Southern carved up Conrail, the two giant railroads needed to preserve
competition in certain regions where Conrail's physical plant could not be easily divided. These regions
were Northern New Jersey (and New York City), Southern New Jersey (and Philadelphia), and Detroit.
Their solution to this problem was the creation of three "Shared Assets Areas" (SAA), where Conrail still
exists but in the form of a terminal railroad which is owned by both CSX and NS.

Florida Railfan Visitors Page
Welcome to our Florida Railfan Page. Here you will find information on where to go in
Florida to see trains, hotspots, interesting areas, descriptions of operations, and how to
get there.
Most of this site will focus on modern railroading in Florida. However, certain historical
sites will be noted.
Other places beyond Florida will be included, such as favorite places and railfan spots
that we recommend from our travels.
We hope that this site will help you when you come to the Sunshine State, or if you head
to any other of the destinations that are shown here.
